Purchase of Church Property @ Croydon - A Testimony of God's Faithfulness

28 Aug 2006

Please pray for us .  Dr Tow was requested to fly by "lightning express" in to Melbourne(29/8-31/8) to view a Baptist Church which is up for sale. The sale is by tender which closes on 8th Sept 06. Do pray for Dr Tow & Pastor Patrick Tan - that God's will be done and the congregation will have strong faith and trust in the Lord to move on with one mind, one spirit and one accord. Estimated price by tender: 1.5 million.

As most of you who have visited our current worship place, which is a public community centre ,  the sanctity of worship and solemnity of the place is compromised and is indeed not edifying or glorifying the Lord's name.  2 other churches are also interested in this sale. God's name be praised!.- Philipians 1 : 6 ; Psalm 127, Matt 6 : 33

8 Sept 2006

We praise and thank God in every remembrance of you!

Following a seminar "Mission Impossible" conducted by Dr SH Tow in May 2006, in Melbourne, the Lord led Ebenezer to the sale of a Baptist church property in Aug 2006.  The sales tender closes on 15 September 2006 at 12.00pm.   Do continue to pray for Ebenezer, Dr SH Tow and Pastor (Dr) Patrick Tan in leading us in the purchase of this church. May God's will be done and his Holy Spirit move the whole church to move and serve together, and to pledge and give generously towards the church building fund.

“Caleb stilled the people … and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it” (Numbers 13:30). With God nothing is impossible. Is any thing too hard for the Lord? Consider God’s sure promise: “Ask of me, and I shall give thee… the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession” (Ps 2:8).

The Lord's name be praised!

21 Sept 2006

We praise and magnify the Lord's name for His great mercies and grace. Last night at 9.00pm Ebenezer received a phone call from the real estate agent to inform that the Tender for the sale of the Croydon Baptist church property was awarded to Ebenezer BPC at 1.55 million.

There were 12 submission of Tenders and this was short listed down to 5 religious groups of which Ebenezer was the second lowest in offer . It was indeed by the Sovereignty of  God's grace that Ebenezer was granted the award.

Please pray with us that the Lord will move the hearts of his people to give cheerfully & generously to build His house and  to extend His Kingdom. - Malachi 3 : 10.

Thank you for your prayers. The Lord's name be praised!

Praise the name of our Lord Jesus!. Ebenezer church house (parsonage) at 525 Springvale Rd,Glen Waverley has been sold  to a Private Purchaser who not only bought beyond her planned budget, but also willing to do an early settlement to enable Ebenezer meet some  funds for the new property. Do pray for this Purchaser, as she is a non believer, and yet expressed her willingness to help the  church in need and allow our pastor to stay on till we move to the new premise. This spared us from all the extra costs in commission, auction fees (approx $10,000.00+ ) which would have been incurred if the sale was managed by a real estate agent.

This week, Donvale Presbyterian church, rang and freely gave us a big Hammond organ, 3 polished wooden pews and an altar stand and is considering to donate a beautiful communion table .

Indeed we can see God's supply and blessings and the hand of the Sovereign Lord is in control.   Do  praise the Lord with us and because you prayed, that makes a difference. - Philippians 4 : 19.

Thank you and God bless and keep you!

Indeed the prayers of righteous man availeth much. Give God the glory and bless His Holy Name.

A couple who  visited and worshipped at Ebenezer last Sunday  was richly blessed and moved by the Holy Spirit. They responded to the appeal and cheerfully assisted to loan the 10% GST for our new property and thus this also save the bank interest loan of 7.425%!   An oversea Uni student from China ,who is a new convert from City Fellowship , pledged to remain in Melbourne  for a month to look for a job and give his salary to the Lord.

What a Blessing!   " ... Ebenezer ...Hitherto has the Lord helped us..." I Sam 17 : 21.

Pray without ceasing for one another.

Praise and thanks be to God for sustaining Pastor & Mrs Patrick Tan in health and strength whilst they had a strenous 2 weeks in Singapore trying to raise funds for Ebenezer New church and are now recovering from the flu.

The  Lord has moved many cheerful givers to give and loan willingly towards the participation in building of God's house together with us, inspite of some churches who are also in need and yet they give love gifts. To all givers, Ebenezer is touched by your generosity, and wish to express our gratitude and thanks, and pray that God will bless  you all richly as we labour together till He returns. God's name be praised!

Do pray with us for Nov 25,2006 at 2.00 pm where a combined worship service will be held at the new church premise to thank, farewell and welcome both congregations as we advance God's kingdom. Senior Supervisory Pastor SH Tow will arrive from Singapore to address the service.
